Punchboards
are gambling games - legally classed as lotteries - which
were produced in great quantities through the late 1950's,
when the majority of manufacturers went out
of business
because of the Johnson Act.
Punchboards
were used in taverns and country stores, and are great
collectibles, not only for their colorful graphics and
designs, but as evidence that the real "National Pastime" is
gambling. All
boards are unpunched, and almost all have original operator
payout slips.

25 cent "half deck" card
game board measures 11 1/4 x 12 inches, and contains
a half deck of miniature
playing cards individually folded in glassine envelopes
stapled to the board. Winning tickets get to pick a
card - the value of the card determines the prize.
To ensure that the board would sell out to the last
punch, the last punch sold got 3 cards. Board is in
super condition for $40.

with 6 numbers on each ticket.
Excellent condition.
BINGO - $15
5 cent Bingo matrix board.
This board was designed for "warm" territories where gambling was
not tolerated. Winning #s won free plays. "Hey,
this isn't gambling, officer, the only thing you can
win is more chances to punch out holes in this stupid
punchboard." This, of course, defies logic, but
unless an operator was actually caught paying a prize,
he was legally safe. In actuality, the board paid off
in cigarettes. 5 free plays meant a pack of cigarettes.
Condition very good, unpunched, some minor scuff marks
in & around the yellow word bingo. Board measures
approx. 9 1/4 x 11 inches.
